Sistine Chapel: The Last Judgement will undergo maintenance work from January 19 to March 31, 2026.
During the three-month work, "scaffolding will be erected around the entire wall." This scaffolding will be equipped with several work platforms with a hoist, allowing 10-12 people to work closely with the artwork, minimizing disruption to the public and expediting the process.

It is not permitted to pass from the Sistine Chapel to St. Peter’s Basilica with strollers; therefore, they must be left at the free storage service provided by the Vatican Museums.
