If you want something a bit different, something remote but with all the beauty Fiordland has to offer, then this is the trip for you. Doubtful Sound has all the drama of the fjords, without the crowds. And with two amazing landings, you’ll surely never forget this experience.

In the remote, far west corner of New Zealand, a spectacular, uncrowded fjord cuts its way through the heart of Fiordland. Made special by its seclusion, Doubtful Sound is home to some of the region’s most stunning scenery, and to many native birds and dolphins.

This unique excursion takes you down Lake Whakatipu, over the Mavora Lakes to Te Anau. The World Heritage Fiordland National Park unfolds before you as we venture into Doubtful Sound. Those with keen eyes will spot seals lounging on coastal rocks, pods of dolphins playing, and native birdlife (including Kerikeri, Kea & Peregrine Hawks) patrolling the peaks.

From here we circle into the hidden depths of Campbell’s Kingdom. Seemingly prehistoric, this secret valley reveals a crystal clear lake and cascading waterfall.

On the journey home, magnificent alpine peaks and pristine lakes keep you company, and even the infamous Lake Manapouri makes an appearance. We finish with a flourish, landing high up the mountains overlooking the Whakatipu basin.
