TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Perth to Wave Rock

We leave Perth early and head southeast into the Wheatbelt, watching the city give way to farmland, country towns and wide open landscapes.

Our first stop is Wellington Dam, home to the world’s largest dam mural. Painted directly onto the dam wall, the artwork blends local stories, culture and nature against the backdrop of Wellington National Park.

From here, we continue to Collie, where there is time for lunch and a stroll through the town’s colourful mural trail before continuing to Wave Rock, one of Western Australia’s most recognisable natural landmarks. Standing beneath the giant curved granite formation, it is easy to understand why people travel from around the world to see it.

" One of those places that looks even bigger and stranger in real life."

Tonight, we settle into camp, share our first dinner together and roll out our swags beneath the stars for the first night of the adventure.

Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Wave Rock Bush Camp
Meals Included: Dinner
Distance Travelled: Approx. 550 km

Day 2 | Wave Rock to Cape Le Grand National Park

This morning begins with the Wave Rock Circuit Walk, taking us beyond the famous granite wave through native bushland, salt lakes and ancient rock formations.

As we continue east, the landscape gradually changes from inland farmland to the southern coastline. We stop in Ravensthorpe to admire the town’s colourful silo art before arriving in Esperance, where there is time to explore, pick up supplies and catch our first glimpse of the Southern Ocean.

By late afternoon, we reach Cape Le Grand National Park and set up camp at Lucky Bay, where brilliant white sand and turquoise water create one of Australia’s most iconic beaches. If we’re lucky, we may even spot kangaroos along the shoreline.

" The kind of beach people usually expect to see only on postcards."

The evening is yours to swim, explore the coastline or simply slow down and enjoy one of the most spectacular campsites of the journey.

Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Lucky Bay
Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner
Distance Travelled: Approx. 470 km

Day 3 | Cape Le Grand National Park

We wake up in Cape Le Grand National Park, with the beach only a short walk from camp.

For those keen to start the day with a challenge, the climb up Frenchman Peak rewards us with sweeping views across the national park and the islands of the Recherche Archipelago. It is a steady climb, but the panorama from the summit makes every step worthwhile.

The rest of the day is ours to enjoy at a relaxed pace. Swim in crystal clear bays, explore coastal walking trails or simply stretch out on the sand and enjoy one of Australia’s most beautiful national parks.

With very little driving today, there is time to properly experience Cape Le Grand rather than simply passing through.

" A full day here is exactly what makes this journey so special."

Tonight, we return to camp for another relaxed evening by the beach.

Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Lucky Bay (second night)
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Distance Travelled: Approx. 10 km

Day 4 | Cape Le Grand to the Nullarbor Plain

Leaving the coast behind, we begin our journey across the legendary Nullarbor Plain.

After a stop in Norseman, we drive the famous 90 Mile Straight, Australia’s longest straight stretch of road. Out here, the road itself becomes part of the adventure, with endless horizons, huge skies and a sense of remoteness unlike anywhere else.

Along the way, our Storyteller Guide shares stories of the Nullarbor, its people and the challenges of life in one of Australia’s most isolated regions.

By evening, we arrive at our remote bush camp. With no reception, no facilities and almost no artificial light, this is authentic outback camping at its best.

A night on the Nullarbor is one of those Australian experiences travellers never really forget."

Accommodation: Swag camping on the Nullarbor (no amenities)
Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner
Distance Travelled: Approx. 790 km

Day 5 | Great Australian Bight to Penong

We continue across the Nullarbor this morning, stopping at some of the region’s best known landmarks along the way.

After a photo stop at the iconic wildlife crossing sign, we arrive at the spectacular Bunda Cliffs, where the flat limestone plateau suddenly drops into the Southern Ocean. Stretching for more than 200 kilometres, this is one of Australia’s most dramatic coastlines.

" Standing at the edge of the Bunda Cliffs really puts the scale of this country into perspective."

Continuing east, we cross the Dingo Fence and travel through Yalata Aboriginal Lands before reaching the small outback town of Penong, famous for its giant windmills and relaxed country atmosphere.

This evening, there is the option to head to the local pub for dinner before settling into camp for another night beneath the stars.

Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Penong Caravan Park
Meals Included: Breakfast
Distance Travelled: Approx. 600 km

Day 6 | Penong to Coodlie Park

We begin the morning in Penong, stopping at the local windmill museum, home to the famous giant windmill Bruce and a collection celebrating the region’s farming history.

From here, we continue to Streaky Bay for a two hour surf lesson with local instructors. Whether it is your first time on a board or you already have some experience, the uncrowded beaches and crystal clear water make this one of the best places in Australia to learn.

" Learning to surf on a quiet beach in remote South Australia is hard to beat."

After free time for lunch, we follow the Eyre Peninsula coastline south to Coodlie Park Farm Retreat. Surrounded by bushland and resident farm animals, it is the perfect place to unwind after a day on the coast.

Tonight, we gather around the campfire for dinner before those interested can join the optional stargazing experience beneath some of Australia’s darkest skies.

Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Coodlie Park Farm Retreat
Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner
Distance Travelled: Approx. 350 km

Day 7 | Coodlie Park to Camp Nyroca

We start early for one of the biggest highlights of the trip, the optional Baird Bay sea lion and dolphin swim.

Heading out by boat, we have the chance to swim alongside wild Australian sea lions and bottlenose dolphins in their natural environment. Curious sea lions often dart around the group while dolphins cruise through the bay nearby. There is no feeding or staged interaction, just wildlife on its own terms.

" Usually the moment people are still talking about long after the trip is over."

For those not joining the swim, the morning is free to relax around Baird Bay before the group meets again for lunch.

During the afternoon, we continue south through the Eyre Peninsula, passing quiet beaches and coastal towns before arriving at Camp Nyroca. Tonight, we settle in for dinner and another relaxed evening beneath the stars.

Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Camp Nyroca
Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner (lunch included for those doing the sea lion swim)
Distance Travelled: Approx. 450 km

Day 8 | Coffin Bay to Port Lincoln

This morning, we explore the stunning coastline of Coffin Bay National Park.

There is the option to join the Coffin Bay Oyster Farm Tour, tasting oysters fresh from the lease while learning about the local industry. If oysters are not your thing, enjoy the scenic Oyster Walk before we regroup for lunch at the famous Fresh Fish Place in Port Lincoln.

Later, we visit Fishery Bay before searching for wild koalas among the surrounding gum trees.
" Seeing koalas in their natural habitat is a moment that stays with most travellers."

To finish the day, we join Barngarla woman Emmalene Richards for a cultural experience, sharing stories of Country and connection to the land and sea.

Tonight, we camp in Lincoln National Park, surrounded by native bushland and rugged coastline.

Accommodation: Swag camping with toilets at Surfleet Cover Campground

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Distance Travelled: Approx. 150 km

Day 9 | Port Lincoln to Mt Remarkable National Park

This morning, we join a hands on conservation experience in the Port Lincoln region. Depending on the weather and local conditions, the location and activities may vary, but every experience helps support the protection of the local environment alongside community led conservation projects.

" A chance to give something back to the places we’ve explored."

Leaving the coast behind, we travel across the Eyre Peninsula, stopping in the country towns of Tumby Bay and Cowell, where colourful silo art celebrates the region’s farming and fishing communities.

By afternoon, we arrive at Mount Remarkable National Park for our final night on the road. After setting up camp, there is time to relax before sharing one last dinner together beneath the stars.

Accommodation: Swag camping with amenities at Mambray Creek Campground

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Distance Travelled: Approx. 450 km

Day 10 | Mt Remarkable National Park to Adelaide

Our final morning begins with a walk through Mount Remarkable National Park, where rugged sandstone ridges, ancient river red gums and native wildlife offer one last taste of the Australian bush.

From here, we travel south through the renowned Clare Valley, stopping for lunch before enjoying a final wine tasting at one of the region’s local wineries.

By late afternoon, we arrive back in Adelaide, wrapping up ten days of spectacular coastlines, wildlife encounters, bush camping and some of Australia’s most remote landscapes.

" The places are unforgettable, but it’s often the people you shared the journey with who become the best part of the adventure."

Meals Included: Breakfast
Distance Travelled: Approx. 310 km
