Guided Scenic E-Bike Ride – 4 Hours
Discover the beauty of the Bay of Islands at a relaxed, enjoyable pace on our 4-hour Guided Scenic E-Bike Ride. Designed for cruise ship passengers and visitors wanting a stunning, active experience rather than an adrenaline rush, this tour showcases the very best of Paihia, Waitangi, and the surrounding coastline.
Departing the wharf at 10am, we begin with a gentle ride along the peaceful Scenic Drive, following the shoreline as the views open up across sparkling blue waters. We then make our way past the Waitangi Golf Course, where you’ll enjoy elevated panoramas stretching across the Bay of Islands – a perfect spot for photos and a chance to soak in the landscape.
From here, your guide will lead you into the Waitangi Forest, taking you on easy, family-friendly trails that wind through native bush, towering pines, and pockets of serene birdlife. These easy Grade 2 trails are suitable for riders who are confident off-road with the odd root or rock on gently undulating trails, and offer a wonderful way to experience nature without too much technical difficulty. There is always the option to get off and push in the more challenging sections.
Midway through the ride, we’ll stop at Pikiniki Café, known for its breathtaking views and relaxed outdoor atmosphere. Take 30 minutes to grab a coffee, tea, or a light snack (purchases optional), and enjoy one of the best outlooks in the Bay.
We finish with a scenic cruise back to Paihia, returning to the wharf by 2pm.
A perfect blend of gentle adventure, beauty, and local storytelling.
Mandatory Safety Equipment
For the safety of all participants, the use of a safety helmet and a high-visibility reflective vest is mandatory at all times during the scenic ride. Both the helmet and the vest will be provided by the tour operator and must be worn correctly as instructed before the start of the activity.
New Zealand Road Rules
All riders must adhere to New Zealand's traffic laws. This requires that you must cycle on the left-hand side of the road or designated path at all times, maintaining a single-file line. Riders must always follow the instructions of the tour guide, maintain a safe distance from others, and obey all road signage.
